Belgrade – Monaco, Nice, France.
For those of you planning to spend the summer of 2016 in the glamorous Mediterranean regions near Monte Carlo and Cannes, we suggest a route from Belgrade to Monaco and Nice in France. We have designed the route to be optimal for a summer vacation lasting 7 to 10 days.
The total length of this route, one way, recommended by Michelin for camper travel, is 1,323 kilometers, with the majority of the route being on the highway. Here is the route map:
SLOVENIA
The first stop recommended by Etno Kamp for this route is Bled, Slovenia. Lake Bled, with all its amenities, offers complete enjoyment: a lake in the valley of mountain ranges that provides a pleasant climate even in the summer. The campsite we recommend for this occasion is the newly opened Perun Lince camp, located in the area of Blejska Dobrava. Prices and all other information that can motivate you to spend 2 days of your journey on this route here are available on their website (previous link). If you decide to stay at this camp, we suggest making a reservation for your stay.
Just for your information, campsites in Slovenia are mostly of smaller capacity and reasonably well-maintained. About ten larger campsites are typically located near thermal springs, which are popular for so-called Winter camping. Resting and parking of campers are allowed in all parking lots and rest areas, except where expressly prohibited. Smaller campsites often have private hosts who enhance your stay in Slovenian campsites with their offer of local wines and specialties, making it unforgettable.
From Bled, we head to Trieste, Italy.
ITALY
Trieste
Italian campsites are generally well-equipped and offer a variety of additional amenities. Before arriving at a campsite, it’s necessary to check for available spaces, and it’s recommended to make a reservation. While it’s not forbidden to spend the night outside of campsites and camper rest areas, it’s advisable to stay at designated places labeled as “area di sosta camper,” which can typically be found in larger towns.
On this part of the route, Etno Kamp recommends taking 1-2 days to rest at Mare Pineta Camp Village near Trieste or at the Villaggio Turistico Albatros camp resort.
Venice
On the route, we come across Venice. Venice, the city of lovers, can certainly offer you and your family a lot of new insights into this beautiful Italian town. The campsite where you can rest your camper companion and which we can recommend is Camping Garden Paradiso.
Trento – lake Lago di Garda
From the Italian lowlands, we gently make our way towards the Italian Alps, where you can find a true paradise in the beautiful mountain landscapes and stunning lakes. On this route, we explore both Mediterranean coastlines and the Alpine massifs. Passing through Verona, the route takes us to the city of Brescia, a city that is surrounded by truly high-quality campsites. This area represents the natural boundary between the Alpine mountains and the lakes.
One of the beautiful Alpine lakes is Lake Garda (Lago di Garda) near the town of Garda, which is also the largest lake in Italy. The lake covers an area of 370 km2 and has five islands. Garda Island is the largest, followed by San Biagio Island, and the third-largest is Trimelone. There are two smaller islands, Island of Dreams and Island of Olives. Lake Garda is located in northern Italy, between the regions of Lombardy, Veneto, and Trentino-South Tyrol.
The campsites recommended by Etno Kamp on Lake Garda are:
– Camping Garda Guilia
– Camping Arco Lido
– Camping Toscolano
It’s worth noting that campsites in the South Tyrol region offer excellent amenities and comfort for both summer and winter vacations. Additionally, campsites recommended in this part of Italy are:
– Camp Sass Dlacia
FRANCE
After a few days of indulgence in Italy and camper travel in this country, we arrive in France. For your information, most regions in France have rest area campsites; overnight stays are free in smaller ones, while there’s a fee in larger ones. The campsite network is well-developed in the France Passion scheme, where, in addition to organized campsites, you can also spend the night in private accommodations, which we also recommend. Overnight stays outside of campsites are strictly prohibited and, therefore, not advisable, especially in the southern part of France. Campsites throughout France, with detailed information, are available on the following link. Francuska kampovi
On this route, we’ve envisioned a journey along the Mediterranean coast.
Menton area.
We arrive in the Menton area. Campsites in this area, which we highly recommend, can be found on the following link. Oblast Menton kampovi
